Create and Take: Summer Tufting Series JULY

OPTION A:

4 Week Hands On Creative Program for Kids & Teens

This summer, join us at Rugged Perspective for a guided creative studio experience where students learn the basics of tufting and textile design while making a new finished piece each week.

This is a small group program designed for focused attention, hands on learning, and a fun but structured creative environment.

Each Tuesday, students will design, tuft, and complete a project to take home the same day.

Program Schedule

Tuesdays | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
4 week series Starting July 7, 2026

Weekly Projects

• Week 1: Tufted Coasters
• Week 2: Custom Mirrors
• Week 3: Mini Stool Tops
• Week 4: Tufted Pillows

Each week introduces new techniques while building confidence and creativity in textile art.

What Students Will Experience

• Step-by-step guided tufting instruction
• Beginner friendly (no experience needed)
• Hands on use of tufting tools with supervision
• A creative, supportive studio environment
• One completed project to take home each session

OPTION B:

The 4x4 Masterpiece Series (Rug or Framed Wall Art)

Kids will design and tuft a 4x4 foot area rug or a statement piece of framed wall art. Over four weeks, they will transition from sketching their design to mastering advanced textile techniques, leaving week 4 with a a high quality, ultra fluffy rug.

Techniques 

Cut Pile Tufting, Long pile tufting, loop pile, punch Needle, Sculpting and Carving

• Week 1: Sketch design and tuft outlines
• Week 2: Tuft artwork with textile techniques
• Week 3:  Tuft artwork with textile techniques
• Week 4: Wrapping up tufting, adding backing or wood frame to hang.
